Please be aware that there are major shortages, price increases and quality issues currently affecting the European products – both organic and conventional.
The main reason for this is bad flooding and adverse weather in Spain. A temperature of –5 degrees C is forecast for tonight in Murcia, Spain!!
As we have seen from recent photographs, many crops have been devastated and this situation is set to continue for a few weeks yet until the weather and growing conditions improve.
Coupled with another collapse in the £ sterling against the Euro due to Brexit “guesswork” (probably should be called guess-it!!) we have seen major price hikes on all European imports.
We will do our best to minimise the impact of these problems, but regrettably some price increases are inevitable.
With produce in short supply, we are having to place our orders with suppliers earlier to reserve produce. For this reason, it will be necessary for us to adjust our order deadline. Therefore, our new order deadline for ALL orders will be 4.00pm on Thursdays until further notice.
We will endeavour to source produce for all orders but please be aware that when produce is limited, although orders may be placed within our deadline, we cannot guarantee that produce will be available. We will of course keep customers informed if produce requested is not available.
